YOUNG STALLION TROUNCES YOUNG HORSE OPPOSITIONOlympic gold medallist and Badminton winner Mark Todd was in winning mode on the opening day of the Festival of British Eventing winning the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier for four-year-old horses.
Mark headed the class with Johnny Johnston's homebred stallion Opposition Supremacy, who is by his leading event stallion Fleetwater Opposition, sire of British team horse Opposition Buzz. Second place went to Bumble Thomas and the Harlequin du Carel sired chestnut Harlequin Treat who gained the highest dressage marks of the class and third place to the already qualified Togo De Kerser ridden by Sammi McLeod, a Belgian bred gelding bought at last year's sales held at the World Young Horse Championships at Le Lions D'Angers in France.
