The Festival of British Eventing, presented by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA), is held at Gatcombe Park the home of HRH The Princess Royal and promises to be a great weekend for the whole family.  Many special arena attractions are being planned to happen over the course of the weekend and The Festival will host an impressive shopping village and food walk for visitors to enjoy. With the best Championship horse trials action that one day eventing has to offer taking place over the three days there will be no shortage of excitement.

Following on from the success of last year the British Open Championship will once again incorporate the fifth leg of the Event Riders Masters Series (ERM) which sees the very top riders in the sport vying for the Open and National Championships as well as the ERM title, all streamed live on ERM TV.

The three other National Championships include the Smith & Williamson British Intermediate Championship, the Dodson & Horrell British Novice Championship and the TopSpec Challenge for The Corinthian Cup, the National Restricted Novice Championship for amateur riders.  An Advanced Class will also give the top riders a chance to run their second horses.

The updated cross country course sees an extension to the new water complex on Avening Banks.  New in 2016 this complex proved extremely popular with riders and spectators alike. It is a great place to view much of the course and combined with the unique Gatcombe Park Bowl provides one of the very best spectator viewing experiences in the world.
